Chairperson is responsible for organizing the annual student body walk-a-thon fundraiser (which takes place every October) and related support activities and materials prior to and following the event which involve students, parents and River staff/administration.  Preparation includes fundraising kick off (with support of teachers and staff) approximately two to three weeks prior to the event, procurement of sponsored t-shirts for all students, creation of support materials for student fundraising efforts (fundraising envelopes and prizes), event day logistics (including the walk-a-thon and post walk BBQ), and post-event wrap up including collection and counting of funds raised and distribution of prizes. Chairperson typically engages volunteer team to assist with planning and execution of the walk-a-thon event and any other pre- and post-event activities as needed.


Time Allocation: Approximately 40-50 hours between from start of school to end of October
