The River School Foundation is a parent-led non-profit organization that connects families to our mission and plays a key role in strengthening our Community and the experience of the children who attend public schools. While we continue the long tradition of volunteerism and program and event coordination intended to enhance our children’s academic learning with experiences that support their social and emotional growth, we are also working hard to ensure the continuation of the River School beyond the 2021-22 school year; the River School Foundation is pursuing an independent charter school with the hope that the new Charter will commence with the 2022-23 school year and continue well into the future.

Research shows that when parents are involved in their children's education, the children are more likely to* :

  • earn better grades.

  • score higher on tests.

  • pass their classes.

  • attend school regularly.

  • have better social skills.

  • show improved behavior.

  • be more positive in their attitude toward school.

  • complete homework assignments.

  • graduate and continue their education.

In the spirit of this research, The River School Foundation encourages parent participation, however big or small. We invite you to join our monthly meetings the third Tuesday of every month. These meetings are informative, and address volunteer opportunities and all activity-related updates, including progress on our new independent charter school effort.
